First Six Months
A good rule of thumb to follow regarding the earned income from your home based business is to reinvest into the business all profits in the first six months of operation.
How you do this is completely up to you and dependant on your business model, but it is a success tip that works for many startups.
Re-investing Your Profits
Spend the profit on advertising, business books or night classes, new equipment or save it as capital to draw on in those rainy days.
As the first six months of operation for any business is critical, and even more so for home based business, do not assume that any of the business income is free and clear during that time. Reinvest or save it. more

Importance of Headlines to your Website success
Without a powerful headline, your message stands little chance of being noticed in an increasingly competitive marketplace. If your headline doesn’t capture attention and pull prospects into your sales copy, than your marketing effort is a total waste of energy and resources.
Nothing is more important to getting your message noticed than your headlines. If you’re not allocating a sizable percentage of your time and creative effort to the headline used on each page of your website, you could be losing out on a large chunk of business.
Top copywriters understand this concept well. They know how essential it is to capture attention by literally stopping pre-occupied prospects in their tracks.
Here are five good reasons why your site headlines deserve greater emphasis and attention:
1) Headlines Are Natural Attention Getters. The majority of online prospects are quick scanners. No one reads the body copy of a page without first reading and being pulled in by the headline. Headlines are the first thing your visitors see. They jump out visually and command attention. Headlines are leads set distinctly above the rest of the text. Often the typeface, size, and style used for headlines contrasts with that uses in the body copy. It’s a proven approach that naturally attracts eyeballs, virtually forcing interested prospects to grasp the message of the headline and to read on. more...

Scams? What is it
Here's a question I have... Earlier today I read a post on one of my favorite forums that to me implied that Herbalife is a scam. I've never been associated with them. I know they happen to have some new products out that are pretty good. Would I join? If anything, I'd join to get something at a discount if it were truly good. But I have an acquaintance who made $5,000 per month from the statement... "Lose 15 pounds in 30 days! Ask me how!" When bad press hit the company, he lost that income. But it did work for him. But I keep reading posts that imply the company itself is a scam... Sure, I assume there are bad apple distributors there like everywhere else on earth. I'm talking about the company and the concept. To my knowledge they recently launched a product designed to enhance the body's Nitric Oxide production. It's based on solid research. It's "for real". So is the WHOLE THING a scam? I don't think so for one. Now Herbalife is just an example. Lots of people call lots of things "scams". Any one who tells you you can get in an MLM (or any business) and make money without constant, daily effort is not telling you the facts. But calling something a scam because people who believed in pipe dreams lost money through their own greed would be like calling McDonald's a scam if a franchisee decided they should be entitled to make money without flippng burgers. You may just need something besides a pre-packaged opportunity. If so, here are my top picks for "do it yourself opportunities"...

Don't Be Scared to be a Millionaire
Are you TOO SCARED to be a millionaire? A recent article at NewScientist.com says - "Probably!" I remember many phone conversations when I was publishing my print newsletter analyzing home business opportunities. They'd call wanting to know the "next great thing". I suppose I could have started a stampede if I'd wished. But it wouldn't have lasted long. These were the folks who thought that buying a distributor kit and making an initial purchase would result in riches because others would flock to the opportunity and they'd never have to learn any new skills. I thought of these folks when I saw the article. They were risk averse. Riches came from getting lucky instead of work. I thought of those calls when I read this article. This article states - based on contestants in the show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" that most who apply to the show and thereby identify themselves as wanting to be a millionaire are too risk averse and would get more money if they took more chances. The problem with the article is the typcial bias of salaried scientists who never have to risk a thing in their lives. They equate becoming a millionaire with GAMBLING. The implication is that all millionaires are gamblers... some just chose a franchise instead of a roulette wheel. In my mind, entrepreneurs usually take INFORMED and CALCULATED risks... not "what the heck?" risks. But read it and decide for yourself.Click Here for Free Work at Home InfoArticle source: http://1sthowtoworkathome.blogspot.com/2005/08/too-scared-to-be-millionaire.html
